American Immigration Lawyers Association members, including the Law Office of Natalia Malyshkina, were informed by the Assistant Chief Immigration Judge that 120 Montgomery Street Immigration Court will not accept any court filings due to government shutdown. Attorneys will NOT be penalized for a late filing. The Court is NOT ALLOWED to work on ANY non-detained cases during the shutdown.
Since it is unclear when the government shutdown will end, if an attorney has a case that is scheduled within a week, then the Sansome Street Immigration Court will accept these court filings, and only these filings. However, the ACIJ has stated these filings can also wait until 120 Montgomery Street Immigration Court is officially reopened.
Please contact your attorney to find out whether you are affected by the government shutdown, if you need to urgently file a case or appear in court.
